The Illinois Network of Child Care Resources and Referral Agencies (INCCRRA) announced Friday that Dan Harris has been appointed to serve as its executive director.
Harris has served in both the private and public sectors and most recently was assistant director for the Division of Family and Community Services within the Illinois Department of Human Services. As assistant director, Harris managed state and federal programs that included family case management, youth development substance abuse prevention and home visiting programs.
Harris will take the place of Jan Maruna, who is retiring after serving the INCCRRA for 13 years.
"I recognize that I have big shoes to fill with Jan's retirement," Harris said, "but I am excited about this challenge and the opportunity to lead INCCRRA forward."
Harris holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Knox College and a master's degree in public policy from the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy.
INCCRRA is specialized in systems building and supports the professional development of the workforce for early childhood care and education across the state. The organization has partnerships with 16 local child care resource and referral agencies and serves 102 counties.
