Duke Energy CEO and President Lynn Good has been chosen to join Boeing’s Board of Directors, where she will serve on the board’s audit and finance committees.
Boeing Board of Directors Chairman Jim McNerney made the announcement of Good’s selection as a director Thursday.
Good serves as president and CEO of Duke Energy, the United States’ largest electric company. Duke Energy provides services for around 23 million people across the Carolinas, Florida and in the Midwest.
Prior to Good’s appointment as CEO in 2013, she served as the energy utility’s CFO and developed the company's commercial renewable energy projects.
Good has also been a partner at Deloitte & Touche as well as at Arthur Andersen.
McNerney said Good’s reputation as one of the energy sector’s most innovative leaders and her focus on customers and environmental responsibility will make her an excellent addition to Boeing’s board.
"She is a strategic thinker who is leading a large, complex company through a period of great change,” McNerney said.
On top of her new role at Boeing and her position leading Duke Energy, Good also serves on the boards of directors of the Edison Electric Institute and the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations. She is also a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute’s executive committee.
