Engineering firm hires consultant for Chicago office

Arup has hired Daniel Michaud as an associate and senior technology consultant to help build the information technology and communications (ITC) group in its Chicago office while also strengthening the firm's overall regional digital and smart buildings offerings.

"We're excited for Dan to join our Digital ITC group. His experience and talent will enable us to continue serving clients in Chicago and throughout the Americas," James Quiter, principal and board member responsible for the Chicago office, said. "With a focus on the evolving fields of intelligent buildings and integrated systems, Dan's experience assimilates well with Arup's culture of innovation, creativity, sustainability and an emphasis on building a better world. He is joining a growing and vibrant group of practitioners and brings a wealth of experience to this role."

Dan's experience encompasses a number of integrated systems and project management areas. Most notably, he has proven to be a strong smart building, campus, and city designer and leader; has experience with BMS/BAS controls, lighting controls, security, and audiovisual design and consulting; designs structured cabling and active network environments; and consults on data center and mission critical environments. In addition, he is fluent in technology program and project management.
