The U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce (USWCC) and the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce will co-host the Southern Illinois Women's Economic Summit at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham, Illinois on Sept. 30.
Attendees will hear hear from keynote speakers about the economic impact of women in business in Illinois, learn about new initiatives to assist the continued development of diversity in purchasing, and take part in a discussion about the priorities that women need to advance economic growth.
Speakers scheduled to attend include Valerie Ross, manager of the Small Business Administration in Springfield, Illinois; Jim Schultz, director of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity;
and Mike Sullivan, director of Outreach for the Illinois Small Business Development Center.
“The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to be co-hosting the Southern Illinois Women’s Economic Summit in September,” Norma Lansing, president and CEO of the chamber, said. “Southern Illinois has a strong women-led workforce and this opportunity brings them further assistance and resources to continue their development.”
The summit will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $60 per person, or $30 for USWCC business and supplier members. Admission includes continental breakfast and lunch.
