Berlin Packaging, North America's only hybrid packaging supplier of plastic, glass and metal containers and closures, has chosen Robert Goldberg as the company's general counsel.
The position was recently created to assist the company in its sustained growth. Goldberg brings almost 20 years of experience to Berlin. He has worked as both a general corporate and commercial attorney, serving as a partner at an Am Law 100 firm and in internal and external counsel roles for public and private companies.
Goldberg, who began at Berlin Packaging on Oct. 5, will oversee customer and supplier contracts, intellectual property matters, dispute resolution and compliance matters. He will also be a member of the company's executive leadership team.
"Hiring in-house counsel at this stage in our growth is an investment we are making to accelerate the completion of new contracts, agreements, and other legal matters that arise as we continue to expand our footprint," Andrew Berlin, chairman and chief executive officer of Berlin Packaging, said.
Goldberg is enthusiastic about his new role.
"Berlin Packaging has built an impressive organization with an advantaged business model, industry-leading growth, a corporate culture unlike any I've ever seen, and a clear roadmap for increasing their share of the packaging space," he said.
