Alicia Joebgen has been named the new executive director of the Frankfort, Illinois Chamber of Commerce.
The announcement was made by Tom Powers, president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Most recently, Joebgen was a membership specialist with the Girl Scouts. In her role with the Girl Scouts, Joebgen recruited and supported volunteer service unit leaders and troop leaders to oversee the scouting experience for 1,300 young women in the Frankfort area. Joebgen holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in developmental psychology, both from Loyola University.
In June, the chamber board created a selection committee to recruit and hire a new executive director, Powers said. "After sifting through many resumes and interviewing half a dozen very qualified candidates, the selection committee recommended that the board hire Alicia."
Joebgen's first day on the job was Sept. 7.
"The transition is going well and Alicia is settling in comfortably," Powers said.
Joebgen replaces Karen Blake, who left the chamber to work full-time at the business she runs with her husband Greg.
"We greatly appreciate Karen’s contributions to the chamber, and we wish her and her family the very best in their future endeavors," Powers said. "Our chamber would not be what it is without our wonderful staff."
