A 12,800 square-foot fitness facility addition is planned at Northbrook, Illinois's Bernard Weinger Jewish Community Center (JCC).
The plans were discussed at recent Plan Commission meeting. Village approval will be required to amend documents governing the property.
It is anticipated the addition can accommodate an additional 1,000 to 2,000 families, necessitating the addition of three to five full-time and 10 to 20 part-time staff members.
The addition will include two large fitness room and a full-sized equipment area.
At the recent meeting, Plan Commissioners also discussed the parking requirements with the new addition, and found no need to require additional parking.
Plan Commissioner Steven Elisco lauded the design of the project. While Plan Commission Marcia Franklin questioned the estimates for parking, she ultimately agreed with he rest of the Plan Commissioners, who recommended the approval of the building addition be approved.
It is anticipated the Village Trustees will vote on the proposal later in the month.
