NorthShore University Health System (NorthShore) network of hospitals and physicians have been added to the Aetna Whole Health Chicago network for the 2016 individual open enrollment period.
“This is a great result for consumers and we are thrilled to partner with a leader in health care like NorthShore to ensure their patients can continue to receive high quality, affordable care,” Nitin Bhargava, president of Aetna’s Illinois operations, said. “This is another example of how Aetna is working collaboratively with providers to deliver greater choice and more options.”
The addition of NorthShore means 1,000 more primary care and specialty physicians and four more hospitals are in the Aetna Whole Health network, which is available to consumers in Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane and McHenry counties.
Aetna Whole Health Chicago is offered on healthcare.gov.
“We are pleased with our latest partnership with Aetna and this innovative plan offering," Brian Washa, senior vice president of NorthShore University HealthSystem, said. "The Aetna Whole Health Chicago plan provides a high-quality and affordable network for patients while maintaining their continuity of care within the NorthShore system."
Aetna Whole Health Chicago is also an option for small businesses and can be purchased beginning January 1.
