A House resolution was presented to the family of former Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jerry Roper at the chamber's quarterly board of directors meeting last week.
Roper died in June. He had served as the chamber's president and CEO from 1993 to 2013.
Illinois State Rep. John Bradley (D-Marion) was a guest at the meeting, and he presented the resolution to Roper's family. The resolution was accepted by Roper's wife Carol.
"Jerry Roper was the heartbeat of Chicago and through his selfless energy, commitment to innovation and new ideas, tireless work as an advocate, and courage in the face of huge obstacles, he was the person that all strive to be,” Bradley said.
