The Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce recently elected several new officers.
Among these elections was Alexander Pope, who will act as board chair. His term will expire in of July 2016.
Pope is the vice president of Rush-Copley Medical Center. He has been a chamber member since 2012, when he was a participant in the Leadership Academy. Since then, he has completed various volunteer stints with the chamber and was named to its board of directors in 2013.
Pope succeeds Laura Newman, who now becomes the chamber's immediate past chair.
Julie Proscia of SmithAmundsen will continue in her role as legal counsel for the chamber.
Newly elected members of the executive committee are corporate secretary Joseph Henning and Lulu Blacksmith of Waubonsee Community College; Joan Boldan of Copy King Office Solutions; Jacob Bonifield of Rasmussen College; Linda Pilmer of Pilmer Real Estate; Edward Hunter of Presence Mercy Medical Center; and Scott Roscoe of Pipe Fitters Local 597.
Several board members are retiring, including past chair Keith Wheeler, Kenneth Knight and Rick Slocum.
New members, elected for three-year terms, include Konen, Kurt Norris of Caterpillar and Karen Nelson of Old Second.
