The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet.
The administrator spoke with chamber members and Chicagoland business owners about the vital role international trade plays in the economy of the Chicagoland region.
The chamber has supported many of the nation's international trade policy proposals, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and reauthorization of the charter of the Export-Import Bank.
Contreras-Sweet, a member of the Obama Administration, has met with members of the Chicagoland Chamber once before. Her most recent visit follows a meeting chamber members had earlier this year with U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and Rep. Mike Quigley, during which trade issues were also discussed.
