The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce teamed up in November with the Cork Institute of Technology in Cork, Ireland, on a major research study into Chicago's information, technology and communication (ICT) cluster.
Those playing major roles in the study included Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Theresa Mintle, Chamber Executive Director of Programs Katie Fitzpatrick and Dr. John Hobbs and Eoin Byrne from the Cork Institute.
Several of the chamber's member businesses also participated, including Forum Coworking/CPUrx, 3D Printer Experience, Big Marker, Rico Enterprises, Steadfast, SMB Help Desk, Gesture and YJT Solutions.
The study focused on the connection of small- and medium-size businesses in the Chicago area's ICT sector with customers and suppliers. The study's authors also suggested ways to increase partnerships that could lead to the enhancement of Chicago's ICT sector as a whole.
