After more than two decades at the helm of Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois in Peoria, CEO Patty Fuchs will step down in June 2016.
Fuchs came to Goodwill in 1993. She credited the people who work at the 11 Central Illinois stores with the successes and growth she has witnessed over the past 22 years. During her tenure, the number of employees in the Central Illinois division has jumped from 65 to 400.
“The decision to retire was never going to be an easy one as the organization, the mission and the people have been a part of my life for so long," Fuchs said. "Goodwill has a strong leadership team and there are exciting opportunities ahead for the new CEO and the organization. The achievements and growth of our organization, even during difficult and challenging times, is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the entire staff, past and present, and a strong board of directors. For that, I thank them all.”
Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois has hired an executive search firm to help find Fuchs' successor. The search will officially begin in January.
