Real estate franchise Keller Williams will open its first market center in the city of Chicago to help clients sell and purchase residential properties.

The new office will be headed by former @properties Chicago brokers Mary Haight and Joe Zimmerman.

Keller Williams operates 10 offices in the Chicago area, but the new location is its first in the city of Chicago. Keller Williams Mid-American Region Director John Schumacher said establishing an office in Chicago would put Keller WIlliams in a place with huge growth potential.

“We intend to make Chicago a shining example of what Keller Williams is all about," Schumacher said. "Our expansion plan here hinged on finding the right leadership who understands our culture, and we believe Joe and Mary are those people.”

Haight is a Certified Home Luxury Specialist and has been in the field of commercial real estate for many years. She has been recognized several times by the Chicago Association of Realtors as a top-producing agent.

“We are truly excited with this opportunity to build the KW presence in Chicago,” Haight said. “This is a highly successful agent-centric company with a culture that provides proven systems, business models and training to help agents build their business and better serve client needs.”

Zimmerman has been a real estate agent for many years and has been named to both the National Association of Realtors’ “Top 30 Under 30” and the Association of Chicago Realtors’ “Top 40 Under 40” lists.

“The KW culture and its training and education program is a huge part of why we’re making this move,” Zimmerman said. “This is a company built by the agent, for the agent, and we want to expand this successful blueprint in the Chicago market.”

Keller Williams is based in Austin, Texas. The company's network is comprised of independently owned and operated offices.

"We believe the real estate business is hyper-local,” Schumacher said. “A big part of the KW model is to provide local owners with the resources and tools to help them be successful. We want people who are lifelong learners, and provide the training and coaching to enable that.”

Keller Williams officials said three more offices will open in Chicago in 2016 along with four more in the Chicago metropolitan area.
