The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECCI) said last week that Joe Muchow, president of Elmhurst-based E.L Foust Co. Inc., has been chosen as the winner of its 2015 Chairman's Award.
"Joe has stepped up whenever the chamber has needed a director to take on an expanded role,” ECCI President and CEO John Quigley said.
The Chairman's Award honors a member of the chamber's board who has given outstanding service to the board and president.
Muchow served for two terms as a director and was also the chamber's representative to the city of Elmhurst for the North York Street Tax-Increment Financing Corridor Plan and the Sustainability Task Force.
In November, Muchow was elected to serve as first vice chair on the chamber's executive committee.
Muchow relocated recently but lived in Elmhurst for 38 years. He has been with the chamber since 1996 and has been on the board in some capacity every year since 2011.
Muchow's company, E.L. Foust, produces high-quality air purifiers and environmentally friendly cleaning productrs. It has been in operation since 1974.
Dee Longfellow, outgoing ECCI board chair, will present the award to Muchow at the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 97th annual Awards and Talent Showcase at the Waterford Banquet & Conference Center on Jan. 29.
