Peoria-based OSF HealthCare System CEO Kevin Schoeplein will represent the organization as a newly appointed CEO representative on the Illinois Catholic Health Association (ICHA) board of directors.
The ICHA is a voluntary association of members from Catholic health and social service organizations across Illinois. The organization's goal is to increase the Catholic presence and support the programs and activities of Catholic health and social service ministries.
Schoeplein's term with ICHA began in October.
“I was honored to be asked to join the ICHA board of directors,” Schoeplein said. “With OSF HealthCare poised as a leader in transforming health care throughout Illinois and the Midwest, being able to work collaboratively with other members and their organizations to strengthen the health care provided in communities statewide is an opportunity I am blessed to have.”
Schoeplein came to the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis in 1978, working at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria as an assistant administrator. He was named OSF's CEO in February 2011.
Schoeplein also serves on the Illinois Hospital Association board of trustees as an executive committee member.
