The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce will host an informative meeting Feb. 3 about its free eight-week "boot camp" for residents interested in becoming entrepreneurs.
Any Des Plaines resident interested in opening a business is invited to participate in the entrepreneur's boot camp being sponsored by Rivers Casino. The informational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Des Plaines Public Library.
The two-hour classes will start at 7 p.m. Feb.10 and continue each Wednesday at the Chamber of Commerce offices, 1401 E. Oakton St.
Classes will cover such topics as writing a business plan, financing your business, legal concerns, business accounting and social media marketing. The purpose of the boot camp is to ensure the success of new businesses through proper education, mentoring and networking.
