Levi, Ray & Shoup Inc., a technology solutions company based in Springfield, Illinois, recently made an $850,000 donation to the Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC), allowing the college to expand its aviation maintenance program.
The funds will be used to build the Levi, Ray & Shoup Aviation Center at Lincoln Land Community College, which will house new, larger classrooms as well as a computer lab and administrative office space.
The college's existing aviation maintenance facility is located next to the Springfield Airport; the new facility will be build adjacent to that building. New classrooms will replace the modular classroom and office unit in the airport's hangar currently being used for LLCC's aviation maintenance classes.
Existing shop floor space will be remodeled and used for class areas for hands-on, practical exercises and technical instruction.
LLCC's aviation maintenance program has received much support over the years from the Springfield Airport Authority and the chamber through the Quantum Growth Economic Development Partnership (Q5).
