The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce congratulates member Elizabeth Colon for being named one of Chicago Business Journal's Women of Influence honorees.

Colon is the president and founder of Metaphrasis Language & Cultural Solutions LLC based in Chicago. Metaphrasis is a nationally recognized language-services company that provides professional telephone and on-site interpretation, as well as document translation, voice-over work and language proficiency testing for domestic and international organizations.

Colon has been honored with the 2014 U.S. Small Business Administration’s Person of the Year Award and a 2013 Enterprising Woman of the Year award. She frequently donates her time and talent to educational and nonprofit organizations such as Voice of Love and Future Founders.

Colon and 49 other women will be honored at the second annual Women of Influence luncheon on Jan. 21. The honorees were recommended by Chicago Business Journal readers who were asked to nominate female business leaders in the Chicago area who innovate, succeed and pay it forward.
