Illinois American Water has new vice president of operations


Mike Smyth has become vice president of operations at Illinois American Water.  

Illinois American Water recently promoted Mike Smyth to vice president of operations.

Smyth served as senior operations manager of field service and production for the company's Chicago metro district since 2009.

“Michael has a proven track record of working successfully with employees, businesses and city officials and community organizations," Illinois American Water President Bruce Hauk said. "In his new role, he will lead our efforts in safety, operational efficiencies and growth.”

Smith previously worked for Insituform Technologies USA Inc. and MPC Products Corporation. He received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master’s degree in business administration from St. Xavier University Graduate School.

Illinois American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, is the largest investor-owned water utility in the state.
