The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce presented awards to notable individuals and organizations during its recent 147th annual gala.
Jennifer Gill, uuperintendent of Springfield Public School District 186, received the Chairman's Award for demonstrating outstanding leadership, involvement and dedication.
Teri Hill of the Illinois Times and the Springfield Business Journal was honored as Ambassador of the Year for hard work and dedication.
The President's Award went to Hy Bunn, president and CEO of the Bunn-O-Matic Corporation, and Dan Dungan, executive chairman of Springfield Electric Supply Company. This award recognizes individuals or organizations that demonstrate commendable dedication and commitment to a project or program that ultimately promotes the benefits of chamber membership.
"Our gala is the perfect opportunity to recognize all the people and organizations who come together to move our community and economy forward," Chamber President and CEO Chris Hembrough said. "Our vision is to be a catalyst that helps create a strong, growing economy through talent, leadership and collaboration. It is through the work of our board and volunteers, our staff and business leaders, and, of course, the city and county that we are able to make that vision a reality."
