Nutrisystem said Wednesday it is adding a new warehouse in southwestern Illinois to enhance productivity and increase shipping speed.
Through an agreement with OHL, the company's distribution and fulfillment partner, the 40,000 square feet of warehouse space in Troy will boost efficiency and cut down on shipping times.
More warehouse space was needed due to the popularity of Nutrisystem's Uniquely Yours program, which allows customers to choose frozen food options. The additional warehouse space allows Nutrisystem to increase its capacity by 60 percent and expand its production line. More customers will receive their orders within two business days as well.
“Our goal is to provide cost-effective supply chain solutions that at the same time deliver high levels of customer service and satisfaction,” Nutrisystem Senior Vice President of Operations and General Manager of Retail David Burton said. “With the addition of this sixth warehouse, we’re able to operate more efficiently and improve the overall customer experience by getting more product out the door and to the customer more quickly.”
The Troy warehouse facility is fully operational and has added at least 50 new jobs to the community. The new space will allow Nutrisystem the opportunity to relaunch the South Beach Diet brand that it acquired in December.
