Peoria-based WTVP-Public Media is partnering with MapLight to provide Illinois residents with Voter’s Edge Illinois - a nonpartisan online voter guide — in time for the 2016 primary election.

“Illinois Public Media is fortunate to partner with MapLight to bring Voter’s Edge’s trusted research and information to our audience and citizens across the state,” WTVP-Public Media and Illinois Public Media President and CEO Moss Bresnahan said. “Together we are able to provide sources of congressional and presidential campaign funds, news and analysis, the candidates’ political and professional experience and more in time for the primary election.”

MapLight is a nonpartisan research organization that tracks money in politics.

To use Voter's Edge Illinois, go to votersedge.wtvp.org and type in a ZIP code and home address to view a full personalized ballot. Voter's Edge offers information on sources of campaign financing for congressional and presidential races, as well as biographies and priorities of the candidates. It also shows summaries of select ballot issues and allows voters to print out their choices to take to the polls on election day.

"Voter's Edge Illinois makes it quick and easy for Illinois voters to get the unbiased information they need so they can decide for themselves how to vote,” MapLight Co-founder and President Daniel Newman said. “In the polluted environment of negative political ads, it's a breath of fresh air for voters."
