The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce said it recently purchased Jobs EQ software to help analyze and access data about the local labor market to share with new and existing businesses.

The new software will allow staff to access data from key sources such as the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics and National Center for Education Statistics to help identify a community's strengths and weaknesses.

Data such as employment and wage information and demographics are readily available based on state, region or even ZIP code. Reports can be gathered and shared with chamber members to determine workforce capabilities and demand. Occupation-specific data is paired with educational system data to help describe the community's workforce pipeline.

The chamber said the software will help with business retention, expansion and attraction.
