Stephen Lingle, director of electrical engineering for Product Development Technologies headquartered in Lake Zurich, will join a panel of Chicago technology leaders April 8 at the fourth annual Social Impact Summit hosted by the Collegiate Association of Unreasonable Social Entrepreneurs (CAUSE) at Northern Illinois University (NIU).
NIU CAUSE developed the summit to teach others about using social entrepreneurship as a tool to leverage business techniques to find solutions to social problems and to inspire those interested in making a difference in the world.
"It is exciting to see a room full of young entrepreneurs from my alma mater trying to make a real difference in society," Lingle said. "I remember being in this exact same position as an undergraduate; your career is about to take off and can go any direction possible. It can be exciting, scary and every other emotion in-between. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and mentoring this group of young professionals in whatever way possible."
Lingle has been on PDT's electrical engineering team since 2008. He manages a variety of product development programs in the consumer, medical and defense sectors.
The Social Impact Summit includes a keynote speech, three panels and a "Pitch with a CAUSE" competition, where teams will present their ideas to create a social startup for a chance to win a $1,500 prize.
PDT is a platinum-level sponsor for the Social Impact Summit for the second consecutive year. The company has employed many NIU engineering alumni and looks forward to maintaining a great relationship with the university.
