GCS Credit Union recently announced several new directors, in addition to awards the organization has won.
Ron Jarrett, Bert Enfield, Jack Manion, Jim Devine and George Mitchell are the new directors.
The credit union won second place in the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award program for its most charitable and community-related work. The winning entry focused on the People Helping People Project, in which employees donated funds or goods to local charities throughout the year. Through the project, more than $50,000 was donated to charities in communities served by GCS.
The company was also given a plaque by the Illinois Credit Union League, celebrating GCS' 75 years of service. In addition, it recently won an honorable mention in the statewide Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award, presented by Kevin Shaw, Illinois Credit Union System's regional director.
GCS is also planning a 1940s-themed Gateway Grizzlies baseball game outing at GCS Credit Union Ballpark for June 17 as part of its year-long celebration of the milestone anniversary.
