Peoria-based Better Banks recently promoted Senior Vice President Michael Stratton Jr. to president.
Stratton replaces Robert Mowrer Jr., who was promoted to group president of lending at the bank's holding company, Backlund Investment Company. Mowrer will remain on the board of directors.
“Stratton is a proven leader whose experience and strategic vision will propel Better Banks into the future,” Backlund Chairman and CEO Steve Backlund said. “He understands the value of community banking and the importance of building strong community partnerships.”
Stratton received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Culver Stockton College. He’s also graduated from the Midwest School for Community Bankers and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
“I am not aware of a bank that is more enthusiastic and passionate about serving its customers, and I’m honored to be chosen as its new leader,” Stratton said. “I look forward to working with all of our employees to fully realize the potential of banking better.”
