Ameren Illinois, an electric and gas utility based in Collinsville, has updated the design of its monthly bills to help give customers more information that allows them to control energy usage and manage costs.
The new design features make it easier for customers to find the information they seek.
"The new bill was designed with our customers in mind," Shirley Stennis, Ameren Illinois director of customer service said. "We asked them what information was most important and how we could best display that information to improve their experience."
The new bills use color and graphics to help customers track the amount of energy and offer tips to help them use less. The charts offer an easy way to note usage over time or to find the average temperature for the month.
"We are already receiving positive feedback from customers who have received the new bill," Stennis said. "Our goal is to give customers the information they need to manage their energy usage more effectively."
