The Evanston Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Evanston plan to launch Crain’s Small Business Week with a presentation titled “Google+ Workshop: Let’s Put Evanston on the Map.”
The presentation will be given at the Parasol Room in the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center in Evanston, beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m on May 3.
This free Google+ workshop is meant to give small businesses an extra boost in building and optimizing their business listings on Google+.
“It’s important for business owners to understand that the more information businesses provide online, the more likely those businesses will be considered reputable by consumers,” Steven Johnson, the presenter of the workshop and a Google Street View trusted photographer.
The presenters, who are Johnson and Maribel Lopez, the partner of Vision Starts LLC, will give attendees insights into Street-View Technology. This technology is important in enhancing search ranking and giving customers live examples of the area’s local businesses.
At the event, the participants will also see tabletop displays about social media experts, local marketing consultants, videographers, web developers and photographers. All of these professionals can work with businesses to improve their online presence and visibility.
Event attendees will also be able to verify their businesses by providing copies of either their business licenses or their business utility bills.
