Three partners with Chicago intellectual property (IP) law firm Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, Li-Hsien (Lily) Rin-Laures, Pamela Cox and Heather Kissling, have been named among the top 250 women in IP, as listed by Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars.
Honorees are chosen based on an extensive surveys and interviews. All three women were also named to the list in 2014.
Rin-Laures has more than two decades of experience building and assessing patent portfolios in the biopharma industry, as well as in negotiating licenses. She previously served as general counsel of a publicly held biotechnology company.
Cox, chair of the firm’s IP transactions practice, focuses her work on intellectual property transactions, protection and transfer, with clients ranging from multinational corporations to nonprofit institutions.
Kissling, chair of the firm’s biotechnology practice, has more than 10 years of experience securing biotechnology patents. She collaborates with bench scientists, business development personnel, and in-house counsel to maximize protection of biotechnology innovations in a wide range of technologies.
