Liberty Bank CEO Blachford named state's banker of the year


This is the 14th year the organization has chosen a banker of the year -- the top honor the IBA bestows upon its members.  

Dale Blachford, president and CEO of Liberty Bank in Alton, has been named the 2016 Illinois Banker of the Year by the Illinois Bankers Association (IBA).

Blachford has worked in banking for 40 years. He is involved with the community and has been very active with the IBA, serving two terms on the IBA board and serving on many of its committees as well.

The award was presented during the IBA's 125th Annual Conference this week. This is the 14th year the organization has chosen a banker of the year -- the top honor the IBA bestows upon its members. 

The Illinois Bankers Association is a full-service trade association dedicated to creating a positive business climate benefiting the banks and the communities they serve. The group was founded in 1891.
