Novak Construction hosted a groundbreaking for Creekview, an affordable apartment complex for senior citizens.
The site, formerly a vacant lot, is at 5615 Liberty St. The finished complex will feature 22,000 square foot of residences for those age 55 and up and on limited incomes. The complex will offer amenities focusing on health and wellness and is located next to a walking trail.
Novak Construction vice president Greg Terwilliger acknowledged Full Circle, IHDA and the village of Richmond for making the project possible.
"This project really strengthens Novak's expanding multi-family portfolio that currently includes over $100 million of senior housing and market rate apartments under construction," he said.
Construction is already under way on the project. Once complete, the building will have 25 accessible units for those with limited mobility; four two-bedroom and 21 one-bedroom units; a computer lab; a library and a community room, plus an on-site property management office.
Concierge-style services such as transportation, medical screenings and resources for other community activities will also be available. Outside, the area is buffered by a wetlands and also features abundant landscaping for an enjoyable outdoor setting. The entire project is expected to wrap up by the end of this year.
