The Center for Real Estate Law at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago will celebrate its 20th anniversary Thursday with a special reception.
The reception will highlight the center's work educating and training real-estate industry professionals the past two decades. The event will also honor Gina Giannella, the school's vice president. The celebration is sponsored by Chicago Title Insurance Co. and National Commercial Services.
"We have benefited greatly from the generous participation of the leaders in commercial real estate law nationwide," center director and professor Celeste Hammond said.
The Center for Real Estate Law has held conferences such as adapting to climate change, fracking and the interaction between scientists and attorneys, as well as conferences dealing with commercial leasing and global real estate investment.
"Our advisory board has members from large law firms, major corporations and professionals who have been elected to membership in organizations like the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, Lambda Alpha International, Counselors of Real Estate and CREW," Hammond said. "Our full-time and adjunct faculty have national reputations in facilitating the commercial real estate transaction of their clients."
