Barchart, a provider of financial market data and technology, has named Keith Petersen head of strategy and corporate development.

Petersen will be responsible for Barchart's growth strategy and will report to CEO Mark Haraburda. Petersen's experience includes IMC Financial Markets, Bank of America and his most recent role in business development for the CME Group.

"With Keith's experience and track record, we are proud to have Keith join our team as head of strategy and corporate development," Haraburda said. "We look forward to having Keith grow into his new role and to help pave a path for Barchart's growth."

Petersen will focus on Barchart's Media and Solutions business units, covering areas such as the financial portal, advertising and subscription products as well as market data feeds, financial content and trading software.

Petersen received a master's of business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor of science in finance from Northern Illinois University.
