George S. Steiner founded the company in 1916; now it has nine locations in the Midwest.
Steiner Electric, an electrical, industrial and generator distributor, recently celebrated 100 years in business.
The company was founded in 1916 by George S. Steiner and is currently run by his grandson, Rick Kerman. Third- and fourth-generation family members are still active in the Steiner business.
“We gratefully acknowledge and learn from this first century of our history, where a strong foundation was built by our past customers, suppliers and employees," Kerman said. "We embrace the future and look forward to earning new opportunities from future generations of customers, whose needs continue to evolve."
The Elk Grove Village company has 430 employees.
“We focus on understanding customer needs and developing innovative solutions," Kerman added. "It’s all about helping our customers be the best for their customers."
“We are a company built to endure,” Executive Vice President Jeff Izenstark said. “Steiner is constantly improving our warehouse and delivery models as well as digital marketing, which will provide and support growth for the next 100 years.”
Steiner has nine locations in Northern Illinois, Wisconsin and Northern Indiana. The company also provides custom services to help improve operational efficiencies for the contractor, commercial, MRO and OEM marketplaces.
