Pekin Park District is offering “Masterpiece Mondays” to its residents, in hopes of bringing the love of the arts to the children of the neighborhood and surrounding areas.
“Masterpiece Mondays” will be a six-week course and each class will build on an art concept, so the participating children will have something to show by the end of the session. Activities include acrylic painting, clay techniques—vessels, platters, and clay gazing.
Classes begin Feb. 13 and are open to children 8 to 16. The class will meet every Monday from 4-5:30 p.m. through March 27 in the Pekin High School Art Room. There will be no class Feb. 20 because of the holiday.
Materials are included in the $79 registration fee. Nonresidents must pay $3 more.
