Peoria-based law firm Heyl Royster recently announced three new members to its team. Seth Uphoff, Jessica Sarff and Anne Mergen will be joining different departments at the firm.
Uphoff will be a part of Heyl Royster’s casualty and tort litigation team. Uphoff has previously served as the State’s Attorney for Livingston County as its lead prosecutor. He also served as its chief legal counsel. Uphoff received his education from Eureka College and his J.D., cum laude, from Creighton University School of Law in 2006.
Sarff has a concentration in appellate advocacy. She joins the Heyl Royster team for commercial litigation. She has previously served as a judicial law clerk to Daniel L. Schmidt of the Illinois Appellate Court. She has also worked as a research attorney for the Appellate Court. She is a graduate of Illinois State University and received her law degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2014.
Mergen specializes in environmental and government law. She was an attorney at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) before joining Heyl Royster. She also served as a Freedom of Information officer for the IDNR. She graduated from the University of Illinois and received her J.D. in 2013 from Southern Illinois University, cum laude.
