Farmers & Mechanics Bank was presented the Illinois Bank Financial Literacy award from the Illinois Bankers Association. The Galesburg-area bank was given the award for providing critical training and key resources to the community.
IBA’s Financial Literacy Committee judges the contest. IBA President and CEO Linda Koch presented the award to F&M Bank on March 3 during the ONE conference.
“We are honored to have received this award from the Illinois Bankers Association,” Doug Sanders, President and CEO of F&M Bank, said. “We realize the importance of financial literacy and strive to provide educational programs and opportunities within the communities we serve.”
F&M Bank provides financial literacy education to the Galesburg area and surrounding communities. It is involved in several programs, including IBA’s EverFi program, to provide free, online financial literacy training to students at Galesburg High School. Their other outreach efforts include working with the University of Illinois Extension Office.
