OSF HealthCare Illinois Neurological Institute has received recognition from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. The “Get With The Guidelines Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor RollSM Elite Plus" was given to the hospital for its enduring commitment to ensure that stroke patients receive care based on the latest scientific research.
In order to receive the award, the hospital maintained adherence to the achievement indicators set by the program for a year, as well as achieving 75 percent compliance with five of eight quality measures. In addition to those guidelines, the hospital also had to meet various goals reducing time between patient arrival at the hospital and treatment.
The awards are designed to encourage health care providers to ensure that doctors and nurses are following the most up-to-date and evidence-based guidelines in the nation. Ultimately, by remaining abreast of developments in the scientific community, health care providers decrease recovery time and reduce death and disability rates for stroke patients.
OSF HealthCare Illinois Neurological Institute is known throughout the Midwest for treating patients with complex neurological conditions and provides access for patients to specialized neurological care not available in other areas. With the help of multiple specialists working in a team to provide treatment, the hospital provides care based on the latest scientific research available.
