Peoria-based OSF HealthCare’s CFO Michael Allen has earned a place among the prestigious “150 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know” selected by the monthly Becker’s Hospital Review, the Peoria Area Chamber announced recently.
With over 25 years of experience in business and health care, Allen joined OSF in 2015. His background includes public accounting and financial leadership for other health systems. For the past 20 years, he has also volunteered as a leader for the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Notably, 2017 marks the fourth year that Allen has merited this distinction. The financial leaders on the list are selected based on their demonstrated abilities to help their businesses work through today’s health care industry challenges with an eye toward creating successful strategies.
Both for-profit and nonprofit hospitals and health systems are eligible for this honor. While individuals can be nominated, winners are chosen based strictly on merit and careful research.
OSF HealthCare is a nonprofit health care system. Its title denotes the Order of St. Francis, and the system comprises close to 19,000 workers across 115 locations, including 11 hospitals serving Illinois and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Almost 1,100 primary care physicians and specialists operate under the direction of its extensive physician network.
