Illinois Central College Children's Center is celebrating its third year of Gold Circle of Quality recognition by ExceleRate Illinois.
ExceleRate Illinois is a state quality rating system designed to evaluate and help with improvements for early learning as well as development program providers.
ICC Children's Center Director Melanie Fleming spoke about the recognition for the center.
"We are proud to receive this award for the third year and even prouder to offer this level of quality to both the families we serve and the students we are training to be the next generation of childcare service providers," Fleming said.
The factors by which providers are judged include learning environment, curriculum, inclusion of children with special needs, staff-to-child ratio and more. There are three levels of recognition, but the Gold Circle of Quality is reserved for only the companies which exhibit excellence.
ICC Children's Center has been providing care to children ages 2 to 6 since 2005 and has been accredited as a High Quality Early Childhood Program.
