Equity Residential announced June 21 that its VP for over 20 years, Bruce C. Strohm, would be retiring from the company.
Strohm has been the executive vice president and general counsel of the Chicago firm since 1995 and will be retiring on Jan. 1, 2018. The role will be filled by Scott J. Fenster, who currently is the company's senior vice president of legal.
Strohm started with one of ER's predecessor companies in 1988.
"We thank him for his tremendous contributions to helping make Equity Residential the company it is today and wish him the very best in his retirement,” President and CEO of ER David J. Neithercut said.
Fenster has been with ER since 2003 and has worked in areas of capital markets and securities, real estate transactions and more. Fenster was part of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP prior to his role at ER and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School with his J.D.
