Hilco Industrial has hired Mark A. Smith as its managing director, with a focus on metals, mining and related areas.
Smith previously worked for Houlihan Lokey, where he served as the global head of metals and mining, according to an announcement. Before that, he was a metals and mining practices managing director with HSBC Securities in New York. He was a senior executive several companies, including FTI Consulting, ABN AMRO/Royal Bank of Scotland and GE Capital.
"We are thrilled that Mark is joining Hilco Industrial and we’re certain his deep experience in the Metals and Mining sector will be invaluable as we continue to expand our overall global asset monetization platform," Steve Wolf, co-CEO of Hilco, said in the announcement.
Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and economics from Indiana University and has a Master of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management and Northwestern University.
"I look forward to enhancing the in-depth sector expertise in metals and mining as well as the broad industry knowledge that Hilco Global regularly delivers to its clients," Smith said.
