Homeowners named Stuart and Alison are more likely to own homes worth over $330,000 and spanning over 1,750 square feet than other individuals, according to a recent Zillow study comparing homeowner names nationwide.
The most common homeowner names across the United States are John, Robert and James. However, analyzing data by region or state, by homes’ market value or sale price and other parameters turned up more diverse names.
Geographically, of all U.S. homes owned by people named Salvador, nearly 47 percent are in California. Willy, Billy and Bill enjoy widespread claim to homes across the central and southern U.S., while Rose rules Mississippi, and Claire can claim both Massachusetts and Rhode Island, according to the study.
In the lower 48 states, women named Anne top Washington state, Oregon and California plus six other states. Additionally, Peter, Alexandra and Geoffrey appear on the top 10 names of owners with highest-value homes.
