Henry Schein Inc. has donated more than $18,000 in dental supplies to the Growing Smiles Foundation, according to a company announcement.
The health care equipment company, which has an office in Elmhurst, provided the gifts in support of the foundation’s recent mission to provide quality oral health care to underserved children in Peru.
The donation is a part of Henry Schein’s initiative, Henry Schein Cares. Along with dental equipment, Growing Smiles Foundation also received with restorative materials, gloves, dental handpieces, among other items. The foundation has helped approximately 220 patients this year, the release said.
"Henry Schein has been an incredible partner to the Growing Smiles Foundation and we are extremely grateful for this generous donation," Dr. Bari Levine, founder of the Growing Smiles Foundation, said in the announcement. "Henry Schein's support helps foster a generation of dental students who understand the beauty of offering one's skills and expertise to help the underserved. Also, Henry Schein's support allows us to focus on patient care and improving the lives of patients who may not be able to access quality dental care. We look forward to continuing to join with Henry Schein in their mission to 'help health happen.”
