Chicago-based commercial insurer CNA recently welcomed Bahr Omidfar as its senior vice president and chief technology officer and announced the promotion of chief diversity officer Joyce Trimuel to also handle operations oversight.
Omidfar has over 28 years of experience in technology, previously improving organizational efficiency, minimizing risk and fulfilling more than 30 organizational patents, according to a CNA press release. Previously, Omidfar worked at Fidelity Investments, most recently as senior vice president for its technology and software security operations.
In his new role, he will fortify the firm’s strategic trajectory, leading CNA’s IT divisions.
He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in computer information systems from the University of Phoenix, the release said.
Trimuel joined CNA in 2017 with two decades of underwriting and leadership expertise. In her new role, she will create and implement optimal efficiency and support innovation aimed at amplifying the customer experience. Prior to joining CNA, Trimuel held executive positions at Chubb, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Trimuel has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from Washington University.
Both Omidfar and Trimuel will report directly to J. Merten, executive vice president for technology and operations, and Liz Aguinaga, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, the release said.
