A panel discussion will be held May 22 involving trust levels in the financial services industry.
The panel and breakfast event will be at the Ace Hotel Chicago from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and will feature Fortune Features Editor Matt Heimer as the moderator.
The panelists include Nuveen Head of Client and Product Marketing Tara Giuliano; Guaranteed Rate CMO Steve Moffat; Country Financial SVP of Marketing Fanette Singer; and Edelman Chicago General Manager of Financial Communications Katie Spring.
The panelists will discuss what it will take to repair trust in the financial services industry in consumers.
The event is free to attend, but those attending need to register for the event at eventbrite.com.
Consumers' trust in the industry has increased steadily the last five years, but then dropped in 2018, according to Edelman's Trust Barometer, which was released in March.
Edelman's Trust Barometer also notes there were six trust declines in 2018, with the United State's having the largest decline.
United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Brazil, Colombia and France all followed the United States, according to the report.
The report noted that people prefer human interaction when seeking investment advice or settling disputed credit card charges. It also noted that people trust credentialed investment advisers over friends, family, websites, newsletters or other employees.
