Graduates earn 664 degrees, certificates from Morton College


About 29.7 percent of the 664 degrees and certificates handed out by the Morton College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Cicero conferred 197 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 197 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 96 associate's degrees in Biological and Physical Sciences and 52 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

The college enrolled 4,397 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
