About 74.4 percent of the 43 degrees and certificates handed out by the Chicago Theological Seminary in 2016-17 were to students in Theology and Religious Vocations programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Chicago conferred 14 doctor's degrees and 14 master's degrees in Theology and Religious Vocations programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in Pastoral Studies/Counseling. Data shows the school gave out 14 doctor's degrees in Pastoral Studies/Counseling, followed by 12 master's degrees in Divinity/Ministry and 6 doctor's degrees in Philosophy.

The seminary enrolled 250 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in 250 programs.
