About 61.7 percent of the 828 degrees and certificates handed out by City Colleges of Chicago-Olive-Harvey College in 2017-18 were to students in transportation and materials moving programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Chicago conferred 511 certificates in transportation and materials moving programs.
But the single most popular program was for a certificate in truck and bus driver/commercial vehicle operator and instructor. Data shows the school gave out 425 certificates in truck and bus driver/commercial vehicle operator and instructor, followed by 119 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies and 86 certificates in "other" ground transportation.
The college enrolled 2,882 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
